I recently installed a low profile gas block - and would like to swap it for a different one.

The problem is that it seems "stuck" to the barrel.

When originally installed I used Blue Loc Tite in the allen screw holes - and think that some of it flowed between the barrel and the gas block.

I pulled, twisted,  and and even hammered on the gas block - but it hasn't budged.

Is there a solvent or something I should use to free it up?  Heat?

Thanks for your input.

The Loctite website says how much heat is needed.

Great Idea actually

"For disassembly, shear with standard hand tools and remove with methylene chloride. In rare instances where hand tools do not work because of excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to nut or bolt to approximately 482°F (250°C). Disassemble while hot."

Thats hot

I just removed a stubborn gas block by throwing my upper in the freezer for a day, it didn't come flying off but after several whacks with a rubber mallet it made it off.
