Long time lurker first time builder. As such I've put together a list of components for a hunting rifle, and figure id run the major parts through trained eyes. This will be my third AR, but the first one I'm building. I'm open to new links and trying to find some cheaper prices.
Upper/lower - $592.00 Ma Ten from Rainer Lower build: Trigger - $279.00 Geissele - Hi-Speed National Match - Match Rifle Trigger Pistol grip - $19.90 Magpul LPK - $65.99 DPMS 308 Stock - $184.95 Magpul PRS Buffer tube/buffer - $43.97 tube Spring Buffer $1185.81 Includes receivers. Upper build: Barrel - $400.00 EE - Armalite .338 Federal ported BCG - $257.00 Only type available Do they make a chrome bolt for Armalite? Id much prefer it, but haven't located one. Rail - $229.00 Troy 13.8 308 $866 $2071.81 total...ish. No gas block, tube, as I'm waiting on info, and i feel like I'm forgetting some other stuff. The receiver sets come with some gear already on, kinda ruining the "build" of it. Meaning the LPK duplicates some parts but spares never hurt when you own 3. I've been hitting up the Ma Ten related threads in the variants section which is why theirs a DPMS threaded barrel nut (included with rail) with an Armalite barrel. But I'm far from knowing all the non compatible bits on the Ar 10's. I reload so the .338 federal being somewhat federal "proprietary" doesn't bother me. I like the larger round for bear at the distances I'll be shooting. Feedback, critique, links, or just plain AR10 info welcomed. |
