| Working on my first build. Not sure if I should build an upper or just buy a complete upper. I did the lower and put the lpk in. Would like some of your input about this, i know the easy way is just buy the complete upper and put it on, but that's not really building it. For a new guy how hard is it to put the upper together? |

If you want an upper that should run right out of the box (along with some sort of warranty) buy the upper already assembled.
If you have time to assemble it yourself, go for it- keeping in mind that anything that doesn't go just right will have to be corrected by you. It boils down to how mechanically gifted you are. After working on/upgrading/troubleshooting many rifles, I would call this easy. Just buy quality parts to ensure a good outcome. |

Putting in the gas tube in the FSB using a punch pin and pushing the barrel against the upper receiver while torquing the barrel nut isn't exactly building either.
You will just need to buy an upper receiver block and barrel wrench to do it. But do what ever floats your boat. |

I'm not getting what you are putting down here. Maybe it's time for a new hobby. OP. You ARE building one by putting a UPK on, gas tube, roll pin, torquing, and putting the charging handle and BCG in the upper. Don't forget to push the two pins (pivot then takedown). It's not difficult at all, and I would not shy away. As the educated first post put, warrranty/guarantee does become your responsiblity. Again, I would not shy away. |
