Ouch! Why -1 for UTG? Because of the cheesy rubber covers? Weight? It seemed quite durable and fit well when installing. Whole rig weighs 7 lb., 12.4 oz. I never considered weight when building, and certainly wasn't going for lightweight. is 7-12 heavy? Avg? Seems manageable for my needs. |

Quoted: You are correct, sir. She wasn't yet home from work Although, I am hoping to get her to shoot it tomorrow! My wife doesn't like the noise and recoil of rifles. Kind of odd, she'll shoot pistols and shotguns but doesn't care for rifles. Not sure if it's the noise or they just seem more intimidating. You could probably talk her into a suppressor, I think that'd be a big plus for some women. Having shot some suppressed rifles I cannot imagine not getting a suppressor if they are legal where you live. I'd take that over an sbr or m16. |

Those UTG suck, sorry I bought them to. After you use them for a while they loosen up (never took them off the rifle) over time they loosen there grip on the rail. Like your rig though looks like mine but a different color.
Edit, The utg cover infront of your vertical grip will be the first to loosen up. |
| I changed mine out with the dark earth magpull, I kinda wish I got the Knights armor as they lock in place I belive the covers from troy do as well. My son is building one in darkearth I will probably give them (magpull) to him and swap to one of the above mentioned. I think as long a they lock in you should be g2g, I just dont like the idea of needing to fiddle with the darn things. |
| Thanks for the compliments and suggestions folks. Already starting to plan out a second upper... but I don't expect it will happen any time soon. Lots of good info available here for newcomers. I knew nothing about ARs a little over a month ago, and now I've built my own! |
