I was wondering if it is possible to etch the inside of my parkerised ejection port cover.
I am TEXAS born and rased, a simple out line of my great state is what I want.
Does anyone know of any online tutorials on this, without having to buy some silly one time use machine or acids that I will never need again?

Instead of buying the stuff to do it yourself, try getting in touch with this company to see if they can do it for you. It says they can do custom dust covers, but i don't know if that only applies to text. Worth an email at the very least. I ordered one from him a while back and the prices are reasonable and shipping was very fast.

If you do get in touch with them, let me know what they say. I've been thinking about getting one with an outline of New Hampshire with "live free or die" somewhere on it.

Their choices look very similar to the offerings from Spikes and PSA. Wonder if they are their supplier?

I've had correspondence with Orion Arms about making a custom dust cover for me.  I sent them some images ( a little more complicated than a state outline) and they said they could do it no problem.  Check with them on pricing, but I know they have an initial setup fee for your images (maybe not if it's the outline of a state, may have been done before).  All in all, if you provide the dust cover, they wanted something like $90 for my first cover ($35 setup fee, $55 engraving fee), then $55 for each additional engraving (if you provide the dust cover), and $9 for shipping up to 15 ish dust covers.  The dust covers I wanted had an image on the left and right of the inside of the cover.  Anway, contact the guy, see what he can do for you, it may be significantly cheaper than what mine were.  Here's the images I provided to them.

In the EE, New Upper parts section there is a thread that is usually bumped that sells lots of different dust covers laser engraved. I got a 6.8 SPC one inside and out for like $15 I think. They might have a TX one for you or can do it up.

There are lots of people who can do it.  Islubeckie (link) sells them here and does custom jobs and does excellent work.  Just about anything you want and he will do it.

I ordered one from him this weekend, I'll update when I receive it with pictures.  He's much cheaper than my previous option, but I have high hopes for the quality!

ETA: Received my dust cover, updating with pictures.  This thing looks great!!
