My nephew and I built my first AR and now I am hooked. I am already planning my next build. Before I really thought about things I purchased my stripped receiver. After playing with my 556 AR, I want a bigger caliber for hunting big game and knock down power. I have researched and found a 7.62X39mm barrel, upper kit, that will work with my lower. This is actually AK-47 ammo, please correct me if I am wrong. I have read that there were problems with clips and ammo feeding, is this still an issue?
Also can I get recommendations on a good scope? I would like a good one that has the bullet drop markers specific for this ammo. Some I have researched cost more than what it is going to cost me to build this gun.

Thanks so much for this Awesome site! I have learned a lot here!

If I have posted in the wrong forum please direct me to the correct forum!

I personally would try 6.8spc or 300blk.  With 300blk you can use everything the same as a 5.56/223 but obviously need a 300blk barrel.  Its the best deal IMHO and ammo is not that bad.

BTW I screwed up. I am looking at 7.62X35mm not 39mm. That is what the 300blk is, correct?
