I know I've seen a post on this before. Does anyone have experience with this product/seller on Ebay? Ebay handguard
I'm looking to slap some cheapies on my .22lr upper and besides YHM I remember these from a previous OP. Seems like his experience was positive. |

I bought one for a .22 SBR upper, but it was the pistol length. I would normally have sprung for the better product but it was only $30.
For a .22 it's ok. I wouldn't use it on anything else. The rails are out of spec (they're visibly smaller than the rail on my upper receiver), and the gas tube holes in the barrel nut are not properly spaced. Not a big deal for a .22 upper since there's no gas tube, but they were far enough off that pins on my armorer's wrench didn't want to fit in them. I had to give it a little gentle persuasion with a hammer to get the wrench on, so the barrel nut is a little buggered up. If I was doing it over again I would buy the real thing. At the time I didn't realize it was a MI knockoff, if I had I would have bought their product. |

heres a thread about the rifle length ones from a while back.
The guy that bought them liked them. Then there was a lot of butt hurt from people that never tried them. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_118/544189__ARCHIVED_THREAD____My_new__76_No_brand_rifle_length_quad_rail__Update__Installed_Piictures_.html&page=1 |

| OK I think people need to take advice from the poster who said he had a set aluminum was soft and scratched easily and replaced them with KAC. KAC rac's can be had for a little more money not 200 or 300 more but about 60 more and the OP will have a quality product that has some bang for the buck. I don't know if anyone remembers the cars called "YUGO". They sold for under 12k and they were cheap and poorly made and broke constantly. No rifles don't have to be 2000 dollars but over time they usually end up that way. And yes not everyone is a Teir 1 operator and is in a firefight everyday but some of the posters are making sense by steering someone away from garbage which the OP will end up replacing in a few months anyway. Yeah its for a 22 and doesn't need to be anything special but don't cheap out on something that can be had for a few dollars more. For a 22 I would say bag the quad rail and get a MOE handguard. |

Don't like the Aluminum because it's too "soft" so recommend a plastic handguard

Those look like the GRG MFG rails from Amazon.
I posted this up on a different THREAD but it may be more useful here. I put it through 90 rds last weekend and it was solid. Since I was on a budget, I took a chance on this rail. It came in at just over $85 for the 10" rail. The design strongly resemble the YHM free float rails. The total weight of the rail and the included barrel nut was 14.4 oz. It has an anti-rotational set screw on the bottom to prevent the rail from spinning. The set screw is designed to pin the rail to one of the gas tube slots in the barrel nut. Best I can explain is imagine a threaded buffer stop pin. I dont know what the quality difference is compared to the more expensive options, but for the money, so far, Im happy with what I got for what I paid. Pic of the setup weighed. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7021/6631898369_7809861af0_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7143/6631900779_f3584f731b_z.jpg Pic of the rail itself. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7006/6631902545_76a3e597e3_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7001/6631904817_05b0ed265a_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7011/6631907003_5de8e023ab_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7027/6631909097_44d8ef24d0_z.jpg Pics on the AR. http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp94/wcj/IMG_1926.jpg http://i401.photobucket.com/albums/pp94/wcj/IMG_1925.jpg |
