I am getting the planning done for my first build. I figure that I can buy a "factory" AR-15 and have a rifle now, but it wont be what I want. I am pretty sure that it will take me the better part of this year to complete, because of money, but I will get everything that I am wanting. I dont have all of the parts in mind yet, but I have several of them and would also like some suggestions on my choices and any opinions you have on what I have/haven't chosen. I am left handed, so I have to buy some ambi items to accommodate my shooting style. I have been reading here for a couple of weeks now and it has been informative, but I am having to jump all over the forum to get answers and the search engine here doesnt always find what I am looking for... I figured I would jump in and say Howdy and get all my answers in one spot. Thanks in advance and glad to have joined the site.

Not familiar with ambi-mag releases.
I use SEI Vortex flash suppressors.
Especially if you are going to reload the longer the better on the gas system.
BCM SS mid-length with a 5.56 NATO match chamber.
If you want top tier then Noveske is one of the very best for barrels.
The standard pinned front sight base is extremely rugged, but if you think you may ever want to use a scope then go flip up. I use a clamp on gas block combined with a flip up.
I use YHM Lightweight FF tubes.

Thanks for the answers so far. I know it will be expensive, but its only money and I earned it to spend how I like. I am hopefully helping American companies and their employees too. I have seen so many great looking AR's here and from firearms companies. I have thought about one of those, but I like the idea of building it myself and then being able to use it. I like tinkering with firearms and this only adds to the hobby and knowledge base.
