Does the Smith Vortex need a crush washer or any shims?

The vortex doesn't look like it needs to be timed- so it'll all depend on whether or not you can tighten the flash hider down enough on the end of your barrel.



Shims are useful if the front end of your barrel doesn't have a smooth section before the threaded section.

No crush washer according to SEI.
Hand tighten against the shoulder of the barrel.
From personal experience I can tell you that a hand tightened SEI Vortex does not come off by hand after firing.

No washer/shim required. Hand tighten and you're GTG
