Can some one tell me what exact size roll pin and starter punches are used when assembling a lower. I know that you don't have to use them but those that do I was wondering what size you do use. I have a nice punch set but was going to pick up the roll pin a starter punches that are used from the Snap-On guy when he stops by next week. I really don't want to buy sets of both, just the ones that I will need. Also what are the actual size punches that are used. I want to make sure mine are small enough. Thanks

The Snap-On guy? I guess you don’t want to buy a set!!
I think at some point or another I have used virtually every punch in both sets.
Do a web search for AR pin sizes. I have seen a listing somewhere.

Snap-On comes to my shop every week for my mechanic and I have a bunch of there tools. It is quality stuff and if I ever have a issue with it I know he will fix it. Almost all there stuff is lifetime warranty and I know he will be there every week to take care of any issues. It is costly that's why I don't want to buy full sets it I don't have to.

3/32", 1/8", 5/32".  You may want to get a 5/64" while your at it for the gas tube roll-pin.  This set, and these should fit the bill...

There is no doubt that Snap-On makes quality tools and there is something to be said for a lifetime warranty.
I have been using the sets I got from Brownell’s for about 30 years so I would buy Brownell’s again if I had to replace any.

I made some that are a little longer than the brownells so the hammer is farther away from the gun when
installing the bolt catch pin.
A set of two will do all four sizes on the AR's

Are you selling sets of these??

If so, how much per set?

I ask, because you appear to have quite a few of them.

Get a good set whatever you do. Cheap punches bend and break.
