So I took the AR I built out to the range to zero it and something isn’t right.  I’m using a set of Magpul MBUS sights and I had to adjust the rear sight around 15 clicks to the left to get on target.  I thought it was odd to need that much adjustment so I reset the sight to mechanical zero, took it off and reseated it and zeroed again.  Just like the first time it took about 15 clicks to get back on center.  The rifle shoots fine but it is a little bizarre to have sight set so far to one side.  I’m using a Stag barrel with a fixed front sight and nothing looks out of the ordinary.  Any thoughts on what could be wrong to require so much adjustment?  By the way, the front sight took very little adjustment.

There are frequent questions along this line, so it's not that odd. If it zeroes, it works; the only real problem is if it runs out of adjustment before it will zero.

Could be partially you.. I have noticed that most of my ARs are zeroed with the aperture cranked pretty far to the left - makes me think at least part of it has something to do with the way I hold the guns.

I had considered that it might be me but when compared to my other AR there is a significant difference in rear sight aperture location.  And you’re right, it does what it is supposed to do when I pull the trigger so I can’t complain.
