Do you guys think its necessary to lube b/w the picatinny rail and carry handle? Not sure if thats a place rust can develop or not.

I lightly oil the clamping bar, thumb nuts and, cross bolts.

The upper and base should be aluminum as are some of the bolt and locking nuts.
If you have steel bolt, knob, nut etc, light oil on those parts and you'll be fine.

I think the other post about them being aluminum is correct. Aluminum does not RUST. It Corrodes. Corrosion is usually from something caustic like gun powder. Clean them with CLP, and wipe it all or almost all off. Assemble with confidence
