when adjusting disconnector timing do you want no contact with the hammer if the trigger is realeased and hammer contact with disconnector when trigger is being depressed is that right?
doing my first build and safety checks seems to be functioning ok but the hammer depresses on the disconnector just slightly before the trigger sear engages this is with the trigger released wanted to see if that was ok or should there be no contact. |

I usually don't worry about disconnector timing unless I'm having a hammer following the carrier issue or something else along those lines. Does your FCG pass the function test? Cock the hammer, pull trigger (do not let the hammer hit the upper, catch it or use a hammer drop block), keep trigger pulled while you recock the hammer and the disconnector should engage and hold the hammer, then release the trigger and the hammer should fall to the trigger sear, if it passes then don't mess with it is my moto. ![]() |

Yes it does pass the test I just noticed the disconnector move a slight amount before the trigger sear engages when the trigger isnt pulled, I wouldnt think it would cause a problem and probably better to have more disconnect engagement than not enough.
I also notice my hammer pin rotates is that normal is it worth investing in the antirotating pins to prevent wear on the receiver. thanks. |

The rotation is normal, the hammer has a "j" spring in it that grabs the pin, as long as it's not walking out I wouldn't worry about it. You'll hear mixed opinions on the anti rotation pins (some say they're worthless, some say they do their job), I run a couple of sets on lowers where the pins had a habit of walking out on me, they serve the purpose they were designed for. |
