Basically If all parts being equal and in specs on brand x and brand Y, Does it matter if all the parts come from the same manufacturer?  For instance Brand X BCG in a Brand Y upper and barrel.

Thanks

this.

but keep an eye out for unpublished specs such as tolerances...

example - RRA is known for super tight tolerances, which may lead to fit issues with other brands or even with other RRA parts...

tolerance stacking seems to be rare lately, but it does happen occasionally.

No, it shouldn't matter...but my personal preference is not to mix parts if I don't have to...things seem to work better that way.

All of the above +1

...but...(saw this coming?)

If you're confident and even a bit handy with some tools, you can 'fit'
most parts if there are tiny differences in fit.  Don't screw with the
FCG unless you really know what you're doing though.

A few years back BCM told me they did not know if their upper with M4 ramps would match a barrel I had.
I have had fit problems between uppers and lowers from different sources.
