Sometime ago I read a post about using high temp silicone to make your own gas buster charging handle. Does anyone remember it? I have searched but can't find it.

i remember that post.
seems it was basically filling (about a 1/2") of the charging handle, at the rear, with RTV Silicone.

Wow, learn something new every day...

Could one just relieve the rear portion of the CH where the PRI handle is relieved to redirect gas?

I have a billet CH already and it's beefy as all F...

Instead of RTV'ing the back of the CH, couldn't you just make a little relief groove like PRI does?
Or is there something more to it?

FYI you can use a little bit of petroleum jelly around the areas you don't want the rtv to stick to. use to do that to make form fitting gaskets. work pretty well.
