I'm building up a 16" .50 beowulf and have a question about thread pitch for muzzle devices. The barrel I am getting is not currently threaded and is .750" at the gas block, with an unthreaded, target crowned barrel, and I would like to know what thread pitch to use if/when I decide to get it threaded. I know Tromix used a 3/4"x24 thread, but I also saw recommented a 3/4x28 thread. Which one would be the best? And by best, I mean something that I can actually get a brake or flash hider for without having to have one rethreaded. Boring out the "exit" of a brake or FH isn't that bad, but boring out and rethreading the muzzle interface, mmmm, lets not, m'kay?
And no, I'm not getting it threaded from the factory, so don't bother with that, okay? I'm looking at threading options for THIS BARREL. Thanks in advance. |
