[ARCHIVED THREAD] - end plate issue

I have a Superior lower that has a round hole for the end plate, and it seems like all I can find is the oval hole end plate. I want to install a sling mount end plate but I can't be sure of what I am ordering, does anyone have any info ?

That is normal for a round hole and an oval plate cover. Just Google QD endplate, and you can find the Noveske, Daniel Defense, and about 10-15 more types.

Thanks I will check it out , I did see that Vltor makes one with a round boss that is held in place with a screw, but most don't specify if it is round or oval.

The Noveske (round, never saw an oval) is a very clever, simple design.
It doesn't consume any more space than a regular end plate.
That's the one I'd get.

I run Noveske QD plates on pretty much all my rifles.

My Bushmaster varmit has an oval ,and hwne I was originally looking all Icould find were oval boss'. I see that Troy IND. has a few that are round. I will check out the Noveske

Sounds like you are really hung up on the round/oval thing. VLtor makes some very nice items. I put the Noveske's on 3 of the 4 rifles I have (link below). They work fantastic, and don't protrude on the rear or the side like others. I have tried a ambi HK clamp rear plate too. I have this on my carbine, and it works nicely. I am still into the QD types more though.
