I'm not new to AR/M16 but I'm about to start my first build. I have a good idea of what i want and how i want to make it but i would love to see what you have to say.
I'm welcome to suggestions, and please tell me if I'm missing something big. The plan is for this to be a SPR (hopefully a tack driver) and this is what my list is so far Daniels Defense flat top upper 18" RRA varmint 1:8 Yankee Hill rifle length free float Leupold 4-12x40 (not sure on the scope rings) RRA chrome BCG Double star "Zombie Hunter" stripped lower
RRA lower parts kit with two stage trigger Magpul PRS stock Not sure on the bipod
Yankee Hill Vert Tactical short grip. I think that's about it. What do you think? |

I have an RRA chrome BCG as well and the thing is so easy to clean it's not even funny... aside from the carbon buildup and dirty oil/grease on the inside, all you've gotta do is basically wipe it off with a rag and it looks brand new!! So I second the decision to go that route..
Lately I've been pushing around the idea of ordering a FailZero carrier since they say you can run them with no lube :D Anyone have one that can give some insight on that? |

I like the 2-stage RRA trigger, look into the ERGO grip made by Falcon. It fits like a glove and can be had for $25. Go to a gun show or gun shop and ask if they have an Ar wearing one to test. I was looking at the ERGO tactical with the base on the grip. I have used similar designs on a comp pistol but i don't know how comfortable it would be on an AR |
