After buying a lower receiver about a year ago, putting the project on hold, then a flurry of parts buying, then waiting a painfully long time for a barrel and BCG on back order, then finally finding them elsewhere, I has completed my first AR (almost).
I still need to put some back-up sights, and a sling on it, as well as hopefully replacing the cheapo flash hider with a Battlecomp. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff115/dblbbldaryl/AR006-1.jpg Spikes lower Vltor MUR upper CMMG lpk Spikes BCG (phosphate coated) Troy TRX battle rail 16" DD CHF bbl Magpul CTR and AFG Mako ergo grip (love it) Some other stuff (gas tube, flash hider, etc.) And the crown Jewel: EOTech EXPS2-0 Ran a few mags through it last weekend and loved it. Ran flawlessly. I'm trying dry-lube to see if it keeps things from getting gunked up; Not sure if it's "sticking" on the contact points, but things sure wiped clean easily. |

I'm sure I'll be able to think of other things to do or add later down the road. Yea. It will hit a point where it's done. Then it's what will I do for the next one? I already have 2 rifles planned out for what I want to do. Next one I plan on doing is gonna be based off the RRA LAR PDS but I'm going to make it into a general purpose rifle. The next one after that is going to be a precision rifle. Still don't know what platform I'm going to base it off of. Might go with an LWRC or PWS. Still debating. If I get all these done over the next few years I'll have a close quarters fighting carbine ( 2 NFA items waiting to be done to it but I'm holding off for some reasons due to my job.), a general purpose rifle to cover the gap left between a CQC and a precision rifle, and last but not least the precision rifle. |
