I have a build where I built the lower and ordered a complete upper assembly and just shot it for the first time last weekend. It would not eject a round for two magazines (calif size). I had to pull the charging handle after every shot and the round would come out fine. Upon inspection, although the gas tube is intact, I noticed that the gas tube does not extend into the upper and is not visible by removing the bolt carrier and looking into the upper. In my other AR I can see about 1.5" of the gas tube extending into the upper. Is this normal for the gas tube to not extend into the upper?? Or is this the obvious problem and I should take it back?
Thanks for any insight. |

Even if they make it right, I'd still be hesitant to buy stuff from them in the future. Using a wrong size gas tube is a beyond rookie mistake, and is inexcusable for a manufacturer. If they screw up something as easy a gas tube, how often do you think they'll screw up something more complicated? |

Hey, how do I upload a picture??? I don't have offsite photo storage or anything like that, just on my hard drive. It has to be hosted somewhere like photobucket and then the URL used here .... you can e-mail it to me and I'll host it for you. gatorhunting at gmail dot com. |

Got a hold of Joe Chen at Parallax Tactical and said the upper has a problem with a short gas tube. Here is his reply........
Joseph Chen 10:46 AM You are correct. Bring it back and we will fix it. This shouldn't have passed QC, do you have the QC sheet that came with the upper? thanks, Joe Hopefully the turn around for this repair is quick.

Update:
Sent my upper in to Parallax last Friday July 1st via FedEx. It arrived at their facility on Tuesday July 5th. I just got it back TODAY! It's all better now with the correct gas tube installed. Plus the guys at Parallax Tactical sent some parting gifts along with my upper for the inconvenience (Glock collared shirts, Spikes Tactical paraphernalia, etc). And they upgraded my extractor with an o-ring! I must say that while it was a strange screw up with the installation of the wrong gas tube, the guys at Parallax Tactical did jump through hoops on a holiday short week and put my shit right and get it back quick! Good job PXT. |
