| putting together stuff for my 1st ar and was wondering whats a good lower? I want a good one but dont want to spend much over $120. thanks in advance! |
| No one can really say which would be a good lower that you might receive. Any lower can be in spec & be a great piece or you could get one that's out of spec. No one knows. That said, buy a lower that you can afford & has the logo that you like the best. Once you receive it & build it you will know if it's nice enough for YOU. To illustrate my point a bit, I consequtively received two out of spec examples from a very respected AR brand on these boards. They made it right but you cannot alway go by brand. Read a lot here & come to your own conclusion. There is no subsitute for hands on experience when it comes to gun parts. |
| hey im sorrta new at this too. But after extensive research through the internet i found that spikes tactical's lowers are pretty popular and are affordable... their lowers ar 99 dollars and have multiple different desighs to chose from.... also most lowers are good, as long as they are milspec to accomidate most uppers, the lower wont really break....HOPE THIS HELPS |

Just yesterday I ordered a stripped Spike's lower from AIM for $79.95 shipped. Can't beat that with a hammer! +1 Real hard to beat the quality and price! I have built several and as long as this one is cheaper there is no reason to look elsewhere. Also AIM is top notch for service. FWIW, they will sell out pretty quick so don't sit on it too long. |

Surplus Arms Ammo lowers...$59.99. Buy one get one free for $120. Don't forget the FFL fee. |
| I would go with a Palmetto State Armory Lower and LPK if funds are tight. You can also save money shopping at PSA for the rest of your build. Their stock kits are priced right as well. Another idea is to see if you can find a lower through a local gun shop. If you can get a Stag for $120 out the door I would go with that. I also like YHM Lowers and Uppers-they are good quality and nicely finished. |

My Spikes has a great finish to it and everything was in spec, but definitely order from AIM rather than Spikes. Its cheaper, and quicker. Mine took a bit over 9 weeks directly from Spikes. |

I have an Colt A2 on a Colt lower not a build and a Aero lower on a Colt A3 that I put together and I am tempted to pick up a Plum Crazy complete lower for $120.00 just to mess with and try out. The price is so low for a complete lower with stock I am really tempted. Have any of you guys messed with one of these cheap lowers are they as junk as they say? would use it for a light weight 14.5 upper I am thinking of.

Ironically I was just reading your reply when I got the call from my dealer to tell me my receiver just came in. They wasted no time getting it shipped. AIM rocks! |

Wow that is cheap for a lower, $60 bucks huh. I usually just check out the local gun shops and buy whatever stripped lower they have on hand, really doesn't matter since they are all basically the same thing. Don't quote me on this, but I think these are made by Aero Precision. |
| Buckmaster: I'd get spike's. The finish is amazing and all the pins and springs were easy for me to install. Didn't have to resize anything or sand anything down except for the trigger guard pin. DPMS has a great lower parts kit. Plus, I was able to get a groovy Punisher logo on the mag well. |
