Good Idea....?

Just kidding.. i am not quite sure what you are asking for advice on here.

I tend to think that a guy with two uppers needs two lowers but thats just me and I dont have two engines for my car either but whatever works.
Rock River sells some lowers complete  and for about $50 more you can get it with their match trigger which is a decent trigger.  Check Gunbroker.com or find a RRA dealer.

right now I have two lowers, a Del-Ton and a Smith and Wesson, and I have one upper (this will change...soon...) Both lowers are pretty cheap, and both are about the same quality as every other forged lower that I've ever handled (including Bushmaster and Colt, and I didn't like the FN I handled). Simple put, get whatever lowers that you feel like getting.

Once you get BRD your gonna start having spare parts (including spare uppers) turning into whole new rifles. So, save yourself some headache down the road and get this 3-pack of lowers:

And before you ask....Yes, Aero Precision makes nice mil-spec lowers. You can go ahead and get the 3-pack of Rock River Arms Standard LPK for $66.50 each. RRA LPK's are good to go as well.

So for around $430 (+FFL transfer fees) your gonna have 3 complete lowers minus stock assembly. That's a pretty good deal.

As far as forged lowers go I just recently purchased a Mega forged and the machining is great.  I am going to get 2 more lowers.... The next will be the new Noveske and I am going to buy a AR15.com billet just because I think everyone should have one billet lower. If they weren't available I would buy another forged Mega and a Mega billet ambi.  I took the Mega out of the package to check it and my brain just said "This is just slick".  I had no expectations ... it was just a natural reaction.... if that counts...

+1 on MEGA. I have 3 rifles built with their upper and lower. Awesome stuff.

I think that the 5.45 upper needs a stronger hammer spring to hit the hard surplus primers in 5.45 ammo, a hammer spring that will not work reliably with a 223/5.56 upper.  So, I am pretty sure that you need two lowers for the uppers.
