I am looking into getting a suppressor for my new Ar-15 I just built but I never really looked into them before. Anyone know who and what type I should get? I have been on Major Malfunctions website a few times. Has anyone bought from them before?

You can't read too many stickies or surf too many threads : http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/index.php

1) Determine your state allows possession, and use - which is a separate issue.

2) Suppressors may require you to purchase additional BATF licenses, like Missouri - a Curio and Relic collector's license is considered valid to possess here.

3) All prerequisites need to be complete before applying for the tax stamp to purchase a suppressor from a legal vendor in your state.

And no body is kidding when they say it takes months to complete the process, from the time you make the decision to actually get a suppressor.  I'm a month in, trust created, dealer paid, forms sent in, ATF just cashed my checks.  Latest stories are anywhere from 3 to 5 months from the time the ATF receives your forms.
