whilst waiting for my upper to arrive should I leave the hammer cocked or uncocked in my completed lower?  or does it not matter? also. should I CLP down all the outside metal surfaces? thanks.
and while I'm asking 50 million questions,  one more about the lower build––  with the hammer cocked I can selest safe or fire, with the hammer uncocked I cannot move the selector from fire to safe––did I screw something up?

should I leave the hammer cocked or uncocked in my completed lower? no harm either way, just don't pull the trigger without an upper attached or letting the hammer down easy
should I CLP down all the outside metal surfaces? I wouldn't
did I screw something up? nope, that's how it should be, no use having a firearm on safe if its not charged, right?
