Are there any FF rails that you don't have to remove the gas block / front sight to install?
Thanks! |

You do however have to cut the delta ring off. It is a 2-piece rail that clamps on the barrel nut. I have one on my 16" carbine length and it was fairly easy to do. |

| Daniel Defense makes a rail that goes past the front sight post and has a cutout in the top so you don't need to modify the FSP. However, in order to install it I believe you need to remove the FSP from the barrel, which is really easy to do. I say do the work. |

MI makes a easy to install two piece carbine rail that goes around the sides and in front of the FSB... http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=247 .... all you have to do is cut off or remove the delta ring.
I would highly recommend the Daniel Defense Lite rails or Omega X in the FPS versions seen here https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems.html... they are a bit more expensive and it will require the FSB be removed to install their barrel nut also I think you have to buy their wrench to install the nut (at least with the Lite rail you do and it's 20.00 more bucks I think) but well worth the extra money and effort IMHO. |

Just Do EEET. If you have milspec taper pins the muzzle will face left when tapping them out with a small roll pin punch and smaller detail hammer of around 6 to 8oz. Also unscrew the FH and crush washer before doing this. When removing the barrel nut it will come off counterclockwise as you are facing the muzzle. The new nut you install will have a range of FT-LBS it should be installed to. Most of them are in the 50-80 FT-LB range. Use moly grease and an accurate torque wrench. Once the barrel nut is tightened put the FSB back on and with the muzzle facing right, reinsert the pins, small side in first. Reinstall your muzzle device, which might require a new crush washer but those are just a few $$$. Pics when you're finished. |
