I know there is a TON of info on the forum, and I have learned way more than I ever thought I needed to. Some of the topics are a little older, and I want to make sure there aren't any major changes. I do want something mil-spec or better in NATO 5.56, and in an M4 style, so I guess 16" (or 14.5" with a compensator)
I am debating between buying a Colt LE6940 and swapping parts I want, or just building one: Lower: Forged LMT or Billet Upper: LMT or Billet Barrel: MilSpec 1:7 6150 BCG: Still don't know, maybe LMT enhanced BCG Buffer Tube: MilSpec Stock: Magpul UBR Trigger: RRA 2 Stage or CMC 2 Stage Grip: Magpul MIAD I could use help deciding between Forged or Billet, and what BCG and barrel to use. How hard is it to convert from gas tube to piston (trying to decide if I should go piston from the get go). Also, is there any brand I should stay away from for certain parts? This rifle is just for fun. Not going to compete or anything, but I do not buy crap, ever. I would rather fork over the coin now, and have equipment that outlives me. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |
