I decided on a DPMS lower which is on its way. I am looking to put in a Daniels Defense lower parts kit for about $75 bucks. Ive read some good things about daniels defense so I feel like that is a decent way to go. Opinions on them would be appreciated. Now to my other question/concern, the buttstock. A fixed stock is essential, and I am looking at http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=760499?cm_cat=Cart&cm_pla=ProductImg . Its an ACE/ARFX? fixed stock. My question is, what else would be needed with this stock to attach it to my lower? Is a buffer tube and spring required and anything else? Also would i need one of the stock wrenchs? Thanks
Edit: Okay so I think I will need an extension tube, buffer, and spring as stated on the bottom of the link lol. Im thinking of this spring: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=191371?cm_cat=Cart&cm_pla=ProductDesc Still looking for an extension tube, and also what is the difference between a rifle and carbine buffer? I see the rifle is longer, but will they both work with any upper? |

That particular stock takes a rifle buffer tube/buffer/spring.
Any standard AR lower can take either combination of rifle or carbine parts, but the combinations themselves shouldn't be mixed. IOW, if you're using a carbine stock, stick with carbine parts; if you're using a rifle stock, stick with rifle parts. |

Also, if I went with a carbine stock, I wouldnt need a buffer tube then? just spring and buffer? |
| if you get a carbine length setup, you still need the same parts (buffer tube/receiver ext, spring and buffer). If you are going with a carbine setup, it requires a different stock. The carbine buffers are set up for the multiple types of collapsable stocks. Midway should have all of the parts you are looking for, since you seem to be shopping there. |

Here a couple of ideas of what you are looking for. Figure out what direction you are wanting to go and shop from there:
Here is the whole assembly for a carbine stock. This is everything you need to attach it to your lower receiver. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=229100 Here is the whole assembly for a rifle length stock. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=266795 |
