| Anyone have any experience with model 1 sales ie quality, fit, finish etc? |
|
They had a problem with some CC numbers getting out. They aren't well regarded around here.
My home defense SBR is a Model 1 11.5" barreled upper. Runs just fine. Bolt and carrier are FN. Lower is Rock river. Can't remember where most of the other parts came from. |

yeah, i have had good experiances with them... my best shooting AR is from Model 1 Sales... but its a 6.5 sporter, me and my family have bought (4) 6.5 sporters and they all have been very accurate shooters... i didnt think i could get an AR to shoot that accurate from a build kit but they shoot as well or better than some of my custom bolt rifles...
how ever the only 5.56 rifle kit i got from them was not like the 6.5's it shot well and i never had any problems with it, but the accuracy was on average, and i was not empressed with the accuracy factor of the 5.56 kit, How ever it ran smooth and it would eat anything i feed it... i just couldnt get 1 MOA out of it @ 100yds... it always shot around 1 1/2" - 1 3/4" groups at 100yds, however to be fair to the M1Sales 16" Hbar i have to admit i used a cheap scope i got from cheaper than dirt called: "Mark III tactical" made by NCstar, and i only shot a few differant brands of ammo some surplus and some tula and some BVAC Match but it was a 69 gr and the rifle was 1-9 twist, sooo that could have had something to do with the accuracy not performing... i always felt like i couldnt adjusted the quick release mount built in on the scope i never realy liked that scope... sooo i cant blam the accuracy issue solely on the rifle itself... bujt it never malfuntioned... ran about 500 rds through it befor i ended up selling it to buy another pistol.. i always end showing a rifle to friends or family and they always talk me out of them.. lol... i never get to attached to these AR's i guess its cuase i feel like i can always build another one... my custom bolt rifles are a differant story... those i never sell or trade.. i like to break in a new bore and get it shooting well.. so even if i am going to use the rifle for a close quater tactical shooting or run it iron sights i like to range test with optics to see where the rifle is @ and its capabilities... overall through my experaince the kits have been solid... good shooting with no problems... exceptional accuracy with the 6.5 sporter class... and all GTG... |

Their barrels are E.R. Shaw or Wilson. I would order a barrel from them, they can't screw up something they don't make. Right It's the only product of theirs I have, and even that was purchased unknowingly as it was advertised by Midway under their AR Stoner brand. Shoots great but I probably wouldn't have purchased it had I known that it was marked M1S. Their fit and finish used to be pretty spotty but I must admit that the stuff I have seen in the past few years is vastly better than their early stuff. |
| Every AR kit I have is from them. I've built many rifles for friends also. Only 1 problem and that was with a very heavy trigger pull on one build. It polished out well though. I just picked up a M4 14.5" kit for my M16 at Knob Creek a couple of weeks ago. Have not rung it out yet but it looks good.h.jpg |

GREAT people to work with, great products and VERY nice and great customer service. I was sent to them above all the other vendors there from a friend's recommendation. And DAMN I am glad I went. I plan on building many more through them. |

I purchased a 16" hbar through midwayusa.
Good looking finish and shooting with a nikon 2-8x m-223, stock trigger, and american eagle xm193 (0.35 $/rnd) ammo resulted in 3/8" 100 yd. 3-shot groups off sandbags. And I would call myself an average rifle shooter. The barrel was $145 from midway. I am not sure if I got lucky and got a great barrel out of what should be average or what, but, I will buy another barrel from them and give them a chance to impress me again. |

Model1sales is responsible for my credit card info being compromised and has yet to admit much less apologize for it. That kind of lack of customer service has done more bad than good to their reputation. Having said that, I'm sure they could compete with AKpartskits.com (Vulcan) just fine but cost more. |

I have bought 3 uppers from them and they are great. Never had one problem. F.Y.I. wait time is a bitch but good thing come to those who wait.. Eddie I ordered from them on a Wed and had the kit in hand the following Tues. That's the reason I went with them over Delton. Although admitedly I didn't know of their Credit Card rep at the time. Will be watching my statements very closely. I couldn't be happier with the fit and finish of the kit I put together. I've never tested it for accuracy (it's only sporting a $30 Tasco Red Dot). But I'm consistantly hitting bricks at 75 yards. |

Yeah, Ditto! I guess if that's a good thing then so is bending over in the shower in prison. I guess each person has different likes and dislikes and if that's what you like then go for it! |
