The other day I found a thread that compared what I remember to be 4 different mfg of lowers.   Today I can't find the link.
Any idea where it might be?  There were photos and it told which mfg made for which companies.
Anyway starting the build process and I've found good prices and what appears to be good products at palmettostatearmory.
Looking at Lower receiver, MOE lower build kit, and possibly the stripped upper.  Pretty much all the pieces for a rifle from Palmetto accept the barrel which I haven't decided on yet.  Probably a 16 or 18" heavy barrel.  Does the bolt assembly greatly affect accuracy?
Anyway from what I've read here and looked at sounds like good stuff.  Any issues with there parts?
What I'm looking for is a rifle capable of shooting moa or better at 100 yards.
Thanks,

One thing to also keep in mind.... some sellers change or use multiple sources (of the 4 - 5 main manufacturers) for their forged lowers.  One Example, Spikes use to source from Aero Precision Ind., however use someone else now.   Don't know why, I only recall seeing Tom/Spikes comment in a recent thread here on the board.  Point is, data in the link may be somewhat out of date.  I do have one of the newer non-API Spike lowers now, and love it, yet  still prefer API sourced lowers myself (Aero Prec Ind, Surplus Ammo & Arms, Armalite, Older Spikes, etc).

In the end - stick with proven QC sellers, and you pretty much can not go wrong with getting a Quality lower.

My Spikes and SAA both have low shelf. My RRA has high shelf. I know you didn't ask about this but tossing it in as another comparison.

In the authors own words of that thread, "I thought I might document the aesthetics of final finish machining". That is not a thread that really compares overall quality.

I called Palmetto the other day and asked about their parts.  He said that 2 different mfg's are making their lowers.  The lower w/ "safe/fire" will have a finish that matches the uppers that they sell.  The "bullet" markings lowers are slightly different.  Said I would be very happy with the quality of their parts.  He said he didn't know (or wouldn't say) who currently is making their lowers.
The lower receiver article states that Palmettos lowers are by Olympic?  Guess I didn't understand if that is a different mfg or if it would be made by MMS.  At the price of $79.95 shipped, it's a good deal if they are quality parts.

That info is four year old, in AR time that centuries.  xenophobe did a great write up, it's just dated.

Makes sense.  Does any one know the quality of Palmetto parts?  Haven't read anything negative on them.  I am figuring that my accuracy will come from the barrel and bolt.

I've ordered two of their MOE lower build kits and have been very happy with them.  Only really shot one real good but never had any issues for me.  For the price, it's hard to beat!

I havent ever had problems with Spikes or Areo but I have only built one MP or Smith and Wesson lower, My choice is Spikes again that is my two cents worth....

AIM has Spike's Tactical AR15 Lower Receivers back in stock for $79.95 as well.
