I have just finished building my first lower. When I pull the hammer back the trigger won't trip the  hammer. However if I push the trigger forward a little the trigger becomes a hair trigger it releases the hammer with no problems. Is this normal? Not sure what lower parts kit i got it was a gun show special. I also haven't installed an upper yet if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Jack

The trigger should function with out the upper on. i would check the springs and alignment. beyond that it might just be something wrong with the trigger or hammer.

Is the hammer spring installed correctly? ... the springs "legs" should be over the trigger pin like this.

Also do you have the disconnector spring installed in the trigger properly? ... fatter end down inside the trigger.

Gatorhunt thanks for the pic. Figured out my problem the trigger spring was on backwards. Five minutes and everything is right.

Thanks again
