Trying to order parts for my me and my sons first build together and am trying to figure barrels out.
Most barrels we are looking at come with the front sight and I'm assuming the gas block.
Can we order a barell with this and remove these to install the gas block we want or do we have to order a barell without
this front sight.

Any answer on this sunday is appreciated as this is todays project looking up parts to order.

Thanx

Any combination thereof.

Barrels can be had with or without front sight bases or gas blocks and you can add/remove them and install what you want.

The major considerations are:

1.  Will the gas block you want clear the rail or handguard you intent to use.
2.  If you get a barrel assembly (with FSB/gas block and gas tube installed) you may have to remove them to install a free float rail (and then reinstall them).

AR-15 assembly tools: $150
AR-15 parts:                  $1,200
Father-son AR build:     priceless.

Welcome to the board and BRD I would order one without the front sight base.Sometimes the front sight base can be a pain in the ass to get off.

Yes, you can order a stripped barrel and use the gas block of your choice.

What kind of barrell you want to get depends on the type of build you want to do.
