[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Buffer Tube Lock Ring

I received the following lock ring and when I got it I noticed it said it was for a commerical buffer tube. I won't fit on my mil spec buffer tube but I always thought the threads were the same between mil spec and commerical and the only difference was the diameter of the tube itself.

Is the lock ring I got out of spec? The other lock ring on my other rifle fits the buffer tube just fine.

The threads are the same. The extension lock nut should thread onto your mil-spec extension tube.

I would return it to Midway and buy items from the vendors on this site.

I usually do order from the vendors on this site but needed to order some parts for my Remington 870. Thanks for confirming my assumption with it being out of spec.
