I am kinda new to this, so bear with me. I would like to attach a flashlight pressure switch to either my vertical handle or maybe my hand guard. Supplied was a small double sided tape/velcro POS that didn't work at all. So what do you recommend I use to mount this switch?

Tango Down makes a rail panel that is made for a pressure switch. If it is a larger pressure switch you peel off the top layer for a larger surface. Then you can either attach your velcro to the panel or double side 3M tape the switch directly to the panel.
Here's a pic of mine with the top layer removed as noted above.
