If I am using a new barrel, new bolt and new upper. Do I need to headspace before putting it together?

I would have said "no problem" no matter what less than six months ago.  Then I read several different people's accounts of having factory new bolts from Company A not actually produce safe headspace with factory new barrels from Company B.  It can't hurt to get the combination checked out; any reasonably equipped gunsmith should have the right gauges.  I had my first build checked by the 'smith at McBride's in Austin-they humored me, knowing that I had both a GI bolt and GI barrel.  But if your bolt, barrel, or both came from some non-military source, I'd get them checked.

Some vendors that sponsor ARFCOM proudly state that their products are MIL-SPEC; I'd pretty much trust a Bravo Company bolt to work with a MIL-SPEC barrel and vice versa.

I am using a Spike's bolt with a Daniel Defense barrel. Sadly enough their aren't any good gunsmiths around me. What do ya'll think?

Concur.  Spikes' is top notch, as is DD.  You can depend on them to be within specs unless shown otherwise.

Again usually on a new parts build you dont have to headspace but if you want to be absoluetly safe and sure use one.... I dont head space new parts and yes I have only built 7 guns and on my 8th so I guess Im not an expert but any time I use or check a used gun I always check the headspace since I know they have worn somewhat....... Buts its you call
