I am going to be buying my first lower to build my AR and heard about Low Shelf and High Shelf.  Which one do I want and what difference will it make?  Thanks for all the help

None unless you plan on a full auto build.

While that would be nice, I don't think so.  At least not yet... lol

^ Right.

Low-shelf uppers have more material removed from the lower receiver to accommodate a DIAS (drop-in auto sear).

Most commercial lowers are high-shelf.

I have seen more low shelf lowers than high shelf lowers.  As posted earlier, the low shelf also allows room for the DIAS.  In addition, if you ever plan on using an accuwedge, it doesn't work well with a high shelf lower.  You have to shave it so thin it doesn't really do anything.
Personally I like the low shelf and an accuwedge.  Does it give me more accuracy?  Probably not but it does reduce upper and lower slop.
