I started on my build today and completed everything but mating the upper to the lower. I ordered a complete upper from BCM and it appears that the BCG that I ordered with it is complete and ready to roll. However, I also received an o-ring in the bag with the BCG. Is this just a spare? I am concerned that it needs to be somewhere. Also, I left everything dry during the build except for an engagement area on the trigger and the BCG rail contact area. Oh yeah and I squirted a drop of CLP on the roll pins. Prior to firing the weapon do I need to spray down the BCG and internals with a CLP or similiar? Thanks |

o-ring = You don't "need" it, you could (I would) just wait until you clean it the first time and when you take the extractor out of the bolt check to see if there is one, if not put it in. Bolt and Carrier contact surfaces should be lubed.
ETA: A dab of moly greese on the sear and hammer are nice too when you're starting. Congrats! |

O ring is for the extractor. Disassemble the bolt and pull the extractor off and see if it already has one under it. When i lube my BCG i put a small bit on the rail surfaces that it rides on in the Upper reciever, either side of the carrier key and same surfaces on the bottom. Then a little on the bolt where the surface rotates inside the BCG.Hope this picture helps please forgive the quality i have a crap camera.
