I may be stupid but I am having issues installing a standard front sight base.  It slides snugly over the barrel but I can't see how the pins can go in.  I bent the first one trying to hammer it through and then I looked down at the hole and I don't see how the pin would go through.  Too much of the barrel blocks the path.  Does the barrel have to cut to accept it or am I missing something?

The barrel has to be drilled to accept the FSB pins.  Not something for the casual DIYer.

Yes this is best left to the pros. The base needs to be alligned and the barrel drilled for the pins.

Another option is a non standard FSB

Other suppliers have similar FSB's

Thanks for the feedback.  I just ordered one with the screws instead.   Not sure what I was thinking.  I remember the barrel of my other gun had the grooves but I used a railed gas block and they did not come into play.  At least the fsb came off the EE and didn't cost much.  :)
