Hey guy's I am finishing up my lower and I have a question about how far the mag release button should screw down, From all the pictures I have looked at it appears the threaded rod that goes inside the spring should be almost flush with the face of the button right?

Well on my Stag lower with Stag LPK when I screw down the mag release button the button doesnt actually sit flush on the lower reciever and I can spin it only about another half turn at which point it gets held up on the lower and I have to back it off a bit, However in doing so the mag release button can spin from side to side and it seems to bind up while pressing the button "maybe this will be different with a magazine in?"
Should I use some threadlock on the button in order to stop it from rotating back and forth??

Ensure you are pushing the button all the way in, so you can spin on the mag catch. I had this problem with an "enhanced mag release" and ended up using blue loctite to fix the problem. I hope I am on the same page as you.

Use a punch or somthing to depress the button farther in than you can with your finger and that will give you enough room to turn the catch another turn or two.  That should help ya line it up

Lol you know that I NEVER even thought of pressing the button in and holding the catch out and spinning the button, I will give that a shot and see if it works

Should I use some loctite just to be sure or should it not be needed?

You dont need loctite when its installed properly. It cant come loose cause the button and the mag catch are both held in place by the lower reciever.

Yeah I got it now, Just pushing the button down and spinning the mag release instead of the button worked out perfectly

Word of advise.....don't use loctite anywhere in an AR except on adjustable trigger adjustment screws.

That's how every AR ever made is supposed to be assembled.
