I have a DD upper with cardine length gas system (16") and FSP rail.  I have going on 4K rounds through it, and while probably not as accurate as Noveske, it still gets the job done.  Waiting on a Larue Stealth upper in 16" to finish the wife's for accuracy work  Not a AR guru like some on this site, but I think you have a nice build going.

Mags and ammo.

I would put a SMith Vortex flash hider on it. They reduce 99.9% of muzzle flash and the helix design reportedly aligns barrel gasses improving accuracy further.

...and can get hung up on branches, twigs, brush, straps, paracord, etc. None of the latter may matter to you but it's worth mentioning.

yeah Im gonna have to agree with you..my priorites in a flash hider/compensator are recoil reduction, noise reduction(2 conflicting wants Im afraid) flash suppression in that order..Im building this gun for home defense, doing some CQB style shooting, and just all around fun for the whole family gotta love living out in the sticks with about a 700 yard field behind the house and a giant hill as my natural backstop

Never thought of it that way but I guess all that could happen. For HD or CQB I don't realy see how you are gonna get hung up an paracord and branches. If anything it's gonna save your nightvision. Sound suppression is something else entirely and I don't see a need for a muzzle break/compensater on an AR15. IMHO
