Since the melonite or black nitride coating greatly reduces wear in the bore it is advisable to stablize the rifles performance before the coating. This is the same concept as those that don't believe in breakin versus those like myself that do. The chamber reamer leaves small marks in the throat i would prefer not to have for the duration of the barrels life, so i will break it in first. |
