I am building two new lowers, one for a Spikes tactical 22 Upper that I have had for a while and one for a 458 socom upper that hopefully will arrive in the nest month ot two. I have purchased a stock for the 22 yet, bur will go with something adjustable. I have ordered an ACE ARFX stock for the 458 Socom, the description says it will fit on a standard A1/A2Receiver Extension tube. Does this mean Mil-Spec?

My questions are:

1. Which buffer tubes, buffers and springs should I get for each build?
2. Can I get these in a kit or do I have to buy them independently?
3. Where is the best place to purchase from?

Thanks for any help!

A1/a2 stocks are all "mil-spec" if your using a rifle tube then use a standard rifle buffer. Rifle = A1/A2..

A1/A2 receiver extension usually refers to a rifle receiver extension, not a carbine receiver extension.

Carbine receiver extensions are available in commercial and mil-spec diameters.

Rifle and carbine receiver extensions use different size (and weight) buffers, as well as different buffer springs.

Bravo Company, Midway, and Brownells should sell the parts you need.

Ok, so Mil-spec for the 458 Socom and the Ace stock. But am I better off going with Mil-spec or commercial for the 22 build? Also should I use a heavier buffer and/or certain spring for the 458 Socom?

The RRA .458 uppers comes with a couple springs, one for carbine and one for rifle buffer tubes.

The dedicated .22 has the option of going with a folder with the right adapters from ACE and elsewhere.  You can go nuts with it.
