[ARCHIVED THREAD] - modifying notched hammer for 22 upper

I was just thinking.......anyone know or have modified a notched hammer for use with a 22 upper? I was thinking about filing and polishing out the notch. I haven't looked or miked anything but while surfing the net, I figured I'd throw it on here?

Why go thru the trouble when a new hammer is cheap.

Yeah just buy a dpms un-notched hammer. I bought one new off the ee for around $20. Way less than the time necessary to modify one.

Yeah but $20 is money. Modifying it is free.

Plus you have the satisfaction of a job well done and a lesson learned.
