| Im finally getting going with my first AR 15 build. I have a no name stripped lower I bought during the Obama scare. I'm ordering a Daniel Defense upper with 16" government middy barrel, 14" DD lite rail, YHM phantom flash hider, and DD bcg. I just put in my order for all my Magpul parts. ACS stock, AFG1, ASAP, BAD lever, ladder rail covers, MBUS set, 3 PMAGS with ranger plates, trigger guard, and MIAD grip. I ordered a Bill Springfield 4lb LPK. I also have 1000 rounds on the way. I'm not sure what I want to run for an optic yet. So for now it'll be the MBUS. I'll post pics as I get parts in. |
| I just purchased the upper, and YHM 5C2 flash hider. I found a pic of what I think it'll look like. I'll post it when I find it. The 14" rail only weighs like 16oz. So I don't think it'll be a problem. I'm also a big guy at 6'3" and 315lbs. So a little more weight up front won't be an issue. |

I think I'm going to get a 1000 rounds of fiochi from DSG Arms. It's under 300 shipped and brass cased so I can reload it. I also need ammo for 3 gun, and it can't be magnetic. So that looks like the best deal. I'm also going to buy a few boxes of 75+ grain match ammo to see if it's capable of moa. |

I'm guessing I'll see my upper from smartgunner sometime around thanksgiving. When did you order your upper from smartgunner? I ordered mine on Nov 1st and they just shipped it today...UPS says it should be here Tuesday. My brother also ordered one, but on the 7th...DD told him that it should ship tomorrow or Friday. Smartgunner will send you an email when it ships along with a tracking number. |

So I'm waiting for a call back from DD. I hate to say it...but don't hold your breath waiting for that call back from DD. I don't know if it has just been a fluke or if they have been really swamped, but the customer service I have recieved from DD has been very poor the last couple weeks. I called around the 10th because Tommy at smartgunner told me they should ship in ~6-7 buisness days (he shouldn't be telling people that, as DD said it is taking more like 2-3wks)...the person at DD told me they would look into it and call me back...never got a call. I ended up calling back the next day and they told me that a work order had been written but they had no idea where it was in production (didn't offer to look into it and call me back this time). Then I tried to call yesterday to ask if I could pay extra for speedy shipping to ensure it would be here by Thanksgiving but got no answer. I called from 0800 (1000 their time) to 1200 (1400 their time) without an answer. I left a message asking them if they could call me back regardless of the shipping status so atleast I would know if I would have it by Thanksgiving (family coming out and we plan to go shooting). I never got a call back but did end up getting an email from smartgunner saying that it had already shipped. Again...never got a call back or any kind of reply. *Please don't flame me for saying that DD customer service sucks. I am only stating what I have experienced the last 1.5weeks. I'm sure there are several of you who have had good experiences with them. I'm still glad I ordered the upper through smartgunner because it was a great price and I still believe DD is some of the best stuff you can buy. |

Not to hijack this thread but I have to say in defense of Daniel Defense, any overpromising is my fault and delays should be placed squarely on me. Much of the hold-ups can be attributed to us getting orders in to them in a timely manner and bearing in mind these are essentially custom built guns, they are doing a fantastic job overall.
Communication should be directed through us when possible. And while we can't get up to the minute details of the build process and NEVER expedite a build, we can check to be sure nothing is dropped and that things are working correctly. We appreciate the business. We are bringing inventory in house to help things along so please be patient with our progress. Work continues. Thank you all for your business. |

I contacted you about my upper to get an idea of when it would ship. I recieved no reply(Which is why I contacted DD). However, when I contacted you to add a stripped lower to my order you were very fast with your response. Either way, I got a very good price on my upper, and was told by DD that they were running at about 3 weeks to get each upper out the door(So I should recieve it sometime after thanksgiving). I'm sure I'll be happy when I get it, and with you stocking up waiting won't be an issue in the future. Especially since my lower was at my door in Oregon in about a week. So what you have in stock is shipped very quickly. |
| I got my ups tracking number for my upper today. I ordered it on the night of the 5th. Which was a Friday. So my order probably didn't get to DD until Monday which was the 8th. And it shipped on the 22nd, that's just over 2 weeks. Now I get to wait a week for it to get here from the other side of the country. |

She shoots smooth. It was pretty dark. And so far I'm not impressed with the magpul mbus. It's decent, but not great. At 50 yards it would put 30 rounds in a 4" circle. Now with better lighting and not holding a black post over a black target, I'm sure it'll be better. The bill Springfield trigger is nice. Just a touch of pretravel and overtravel, and a nice crisp break that feels close to the advertised 4 lbs. A good deal in my book for an LPK with 4 lb trigger for $120. |
