Where and what kind of grease do I apply to the upper assembly.  This is including the barrel/barrel nut/any free float parts; also the flash hider. Thanks.

MIL calls out Molybdenum Disulphide, because MIL has to call out everyhting. You can use any good wheel bearing type grease (synthetics work well). You just need a dab, since you are just trying to keep the barrel nut from galling the receiver.

'Geasers', thought this was a roll call for the older AR15ers.  

As for 'greasers', I use very little on my ARs.  I have learned that it is not really necessary.

For building them? You need to use something.

I use a graphite free anti-seize or PL-10 grease.
