Like I've said before, I'm new at this.
Got my AR-15 kit from Century and need some information.
I know it is forced on, so what kind of a tool do I need to attach the Front Sight Housing to the barrel so I can install the Gas Tube?  Also,  where do you get such a tool with instructions?

Thanks for any help.

Is it drilled for taper pins?

eta:  is the barrel drilled also?

Yes, the new barrel has the gas port drilled out.

Not gas port.

The barrel should have 2 holes drilled short ways acroos the barrel for the pins to go through the front sight base

No, the only hole is the gas port hole. There are 2 pin holes in the bottom of the front sight for the the "Sight Taper Pins".

If the barrel is not drilled for the taper pins then it needs to be.

Thanks everyone.
Looks like I've been sent an unfinished barrel.  My barrel does not have these drill holes,

Will be calling customer service.

Thanks again

No problem Mauser...Each FSB is drilled for each barrel... So see if you can return that one and get one with a fsb already on the barrel.  Then remove the pins and install the barrel and replace the fsb by putting the pins back into the FSB

If you want the FSB for iron sights then the FSB needs to be mounted in the factory when the gas port is drilled, for best results... I'm told. Coming back after the fact to install a FSB is not something that can be done as correctly... I'm told.

If you are going to use a floating hand guard and a scope instead, then you can use a clamp on FSB with no sight tower and the FSB holes are not needed.

You've been told wrong.
This comes up so often, I'm surprised so few know it can be done.  Clamp on is a good call, as you can still go back to a pinned FSB
