I got a basic Mega Lower, Spikes upper w/ Eotech. I'm looking to build a 6.8 with an 18" ss white oak armament Barrel and a 20" ss fluted 5.56.

I got the barrels bolts, one Mega upper/lower match and an geisselle ssa-e trigger. Plan on free floating both, so I still need those and a stocks.  Most upper parts are ordered but not everything. But it's enough to get me excited

I think there is something wrong with that WOA DMR barrel ... better send it to me so I can fix it.

Looks like your going to have a few really nice rifles ... don't forget about the range report when you get them done.

They are pretty nice Barrels but I don't pretend to be knowledgeable about Barrels.

I got the BRD bad, but it goes into remission from time to time thank god.

308 next!

WOA barrels are pretty high quality IMHO ... I have one of their .223 18" SS middy barrels and it shoots really nice.

I almost bought that DMR barrel but it was out of stock everywhere when I was looking for the barrel for that build so I got the 18".

Do you guys know how how long of gas tubes I need for the WOA 18" and 20" barrels?

How about some recommendations on free float hand guards?

18" barrel is a mid length
20" barrel is a rifle length

what kind of budget do you have for the FF?...do you want smooth or railed?

That 18" almost looks like a carbine system ... or are my eyes playing tricks on me ... really sucks to getting old.

I thought so too...but OP says it's an 18" 6.8spc

White Oak Armament 6.8mm Barrel, mid-length

   · 16 or 18 inch 1:11 twist Match Grade Stainless Steel barrel
  · mid-length gas system
   · muzzle threaded 5/8x24 which is the standard for 6.8mm barrels
   · 18" barrel is .95" for the first 7", then steps to .840" out to the gas block, .750 at the gas block (like an H-Bar)
   · 16" barrel is .825 under the handguard
   · utilizes M-4 style feed ramps for reliable functioning with flat point hunting bullets.

56.816     16" 6.8 SPC Barrel       $280.00
56.818     18" 6.8 SPC Barrel       $280.00

AVAILABLE OPTIONS:
   Headspaced 6.8 Bolt w/ Barrel add $56

I guess that's why I like 16" mid length

Thanks for the input guys.

I got some more questions?

1. Shouldn't the front site be attached to the gas block for better accuracy?

I would like to scope both of these guns, as I already have the basic carbine with Eotech and BUIS!
I would use both guns for hunting/target shooting and I hunt with a Browning 270 now and since most of my hunting is in Fl and Ga I don't shoot  distances greater
than a 200 yds. but might shoot targets out much further. The 5.56 for targets/ pigs the 6.8 for deer/targets and my girlfriends xhusband ( did I say that out loud)

2. Scope sugestions?

Ah ha ... it's that "step" to .840 that got me thinking it was carbine.

6.8 should be fine for the deer and targets but might a suggest a 50 beowulf build for the xhusband

Yes ... the farther out the front site (or the more sight radius you have) the more accurate the rifle will be.

Scopes are really a personal choice ... I like Night Force (buddy had one) but they are expensive and I don't currently own one I have used a couple of the Bushnell 3200 and 4200 Elites and they are a really nice scope with really clear glass for the money ... the 6500 I haven't had any experience with but I'm sure they are also pretty nice. I have also used a couple of Leupold's and they are super nice also ... I had a Mark AR 4-12 X 40 AO and it was a nice scope ... the Mark 4's are probably the best Leupold offer but again are pretty pricey.
