Nothing extraordinary. But its my first black rifle and I just needed something to plink with past 100 yards. Here's a crappy cell phone pic of her minus a charging handle.

Specs (for now):

DPMS Oracle kit from labor day sale
RRA stripped lower
Spikes Tactical 12" BAR rail
YHM low profile gas block
ADCO muzzle  thread protector pinned and welded
Magpul ASAP
Magpul MS2
BCM gunfighter mod4 pre-production
BCM extractor spring upgrade kit
Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40
Primary arms deluxe scope mount

Took it out for the first time yesterday and ran 2 boxes of 100 rd bulk pack federal from wal mart through it with no hiccups. Could stay on a 6" target at 200 yards all day, someone who can actually shoot could get it grouping way tighter though.

Welllllllll..... I had no intention of building this rifle. I was going to buy a flat top match rifle so I could use it for both the local CMP shoots as well as the monthly long range shoot at my range.

Then DPMS had that sale and I blacked out and ordered the carbine kit thinking I could make a super cheap rifle for the long range events plus learn how to wrench my own rifle. Found out afterward that most places wont ship stripped lowers to NY, and if they do I only found one place that will transfer it in for me at $50. This led to a spur of the moment RRA lower purchase at the fun store (and I need a hammer to close the rear takedown pin and a hammer and punch to open the rifle).

Then from building it I learned my initial plan of getting a free float rail in the future was out the window due to how the gas block and barrel nut would be behind the muzzle I needed to get pinned in place. So Before I knew it my $400 carbine kit rapidly doubled in price.

So my plans are to get a different lower for this rifle that closes correctly, dress her up in either FDE or UDE. Get some Larue QD goodies for it, and run as much ammo as my wallet allows through it. This will be for the local 1-300yd monthly shoots but I may also sub it out now and then for my AK during the monthly tactical events.

The lower on it now will get attached to a RRA match upper and become a CMP rifle for me hopefully in the very near future (although I have fun with the rented M1 Garands )

But overall I learned a LOT about the platform, have all the tools necessary now to work on/repair/build the future AR's, and am happy with the rifle.
