Just ordered my stripped lower and will begin building as soon as it comes. I have a parts list and cant wait to start.

Lower: Spikes stripped lower
Upper: Delton 16" mid-length kit, 1x7 twist barrel and YHM diamond handgaurd

Upgrades:
BCM Gunfighter CH mod 3
Larue fixed BUIS
Magpul goodies:  AFG, B.A.D., ASAP & MS2, ACS, MIAD AND P-MAGS
mount for surefire G2
Also thinking of adding redi-mag.

This will be my patrol rifle and will not be adding optic that is why I am choosing fixed sights.
Trying to find a good comp to help muzzle control.
Suggestions welcome. Will add pics when parts start rolling in.

Might want to try the SLAP instead of the ASAP.

Is there an advantage to the SLAP vs. ASAP?

One piece construction, AWESOME DESIGN, and made by one of Arfcoms very own members. Check it out at aimsurplus, the site sponsor at the top of the page!

Also cheaper. 20.00 shipped!

Its also quieter.

Is there any reason you are not going with an A2 style upper if you have no plans for optics.

A larue BUIS is rock solid, but if you don't plan on having optics, an A2 just seems to make more sense to me.

Im just not a fan of the A2 upper. I like the flat top in case later on i would like to add and optic for shooting off duty.
I would really like a T1 on larue mount so that it could be removed when on duty.

I would ditch the B.A.D. lever on the duty rifle.

Hold up Hold up... calm down.

First I believe that guys on the job should use the KISS philosophy.  Not to say just a stock A2 but keep the gizmos to a minimum for reliabilties sake.

Next some people have experienced problems with the BAD lever messing with the bolt cycle and locking back and etc.  Can't remember the thread but i do recall it happening.  I wouldn't want some freak occurrence putting my rifle down when I need it most.

Next, the less things to catch on vests, holsters, belts/whatever the better.

Finally, training with the BAD lever is going to make your muscle memory adapt to it.  If SHTF and your weapon goes down, you pick up your buddies, and you fumble trying to hit the lever, realize its not there, etc.  Seconds count.  Ive done it at the range with my rifles... took me a second to be like "oh yeah, i dont have it on this rifle"

Sure you reset faster with the BAD, but the time you gain (which is negligible if you train and practice)  doesn't outweigh the POSSIBLE negatives.

This is just my personal  opinion.  And only applies to duty weapons that aren't standardized.

Also what BCG?  I recommend the spikes NiB... Thats one gizmo that should be on EVERY duty rifle.

Good reply. I have not heard about the problems with the BAD but that is helpful to know. I have been looking at BCG's but have not decided on one unit yet. I have been reading about NiB coated BCG's and they seem to be the way to go.
