I just received my castle nut from Midway and it doesn't have a spot cut out on the backside for staking. From all of pictures I have seen, there is supposed to be a spot for the metal from the plate to fill into the castle nut. Anyone seen this before?

Yes.
I got one from Brownells but it is a High Standard one. It was supposed to be ''mil-spec'' but you know how that goes. Now the ''mil-spec'' is gone from their description and the pics actually show some detail. It's still sitting in my parts box. I'll probably add the missing notches and touch up the blue before I use it. |
