I have built several AR's in the quest for what I want in a SHTF rifle.
I am switching from a standard M4 collapsible stock to a VLTOR. I have commercial buffer tube and while looking for a supplier to get a mil-spec I turned up the PWS Enhanced tube: PWS Enhanced Buffer Tube I am not sure I can justify the huge increase in price over a standard tube but thought I would ask if anyone is using one and what you think? A search didn't turn up anything. Many of the features seem 'useful', but I am unsure if that is the same as 'needed'. Thanks. |
I have no experience with it but it does have some useful features ... I think the most useful is the lip to counter the carrier tilt common on the piston rifles. That dead blow buffer sounds intriguing but it makes me nerves when manufacturers start adding parts to a proven system .... the rest to me is .... MEH ... and it's pricey.
Oh and tag for someone with real experience with it. |

I think it might be worth a look for the piston guys. It's a product that is a fix for something that isn't broken on a traditional AR. Of course that doesn't mean things can't be improved. If you factor in the price of a sling type end plate it doesn't appear to be quite so expensive. I'd like to hear a few reports on it before I opened my bill fold that wide. |
